While writing my first web service in .NET I came across the following error:

The solution for me was to get the code to exclude the problematic property from the XML. The property that I needed to exclude was "ConnectionManager", which is mentioned in the stacktrace above ([InvalidOperationException: There was an error reflecting property 'ConnectionManager'.]).
To fix the problem I added [XmlIgnore] before the property in question as shown below:
